5G capable phones are rare right now. There aren't many available and they're usable in just a few locations around the world.
A 5G smartphone is only useful at its fullest potential when connected to a 5G network. So, as this newest mobile network slowly rolls out around the world, 5G phones will begin to become available for carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc.
Below are all the ones we know about right now, but some are only prototypes and don't reflect the company's final 5G-enabled product. Expect changes throughout 2019 and beyond as more news comes out about 5G.
1. Motorola moto z4
The moto z family of smartphones from Motorola are a little different from other 5G phones because instead of including 5G capabilities within the phone, they require a snap-on, the 5G moto mod, to become 5G-capable.
The moto 5G device comes with a 2000mAh battery to compliment the battery included in the phone.
The moto z4 is 7.35mm thick with a 6.4-inch edge-to-edge Full HD+ display, 48MP camera sensor, long-lasting 2-day battery, water-repellent coating, facial recognition, 4GB of memory, and 128GB of storage (expandable to 1 TB via microSD). 5G capabilities are available for the moto z4, moto z3, and moto z2 force. While you're at it, take a look at the best smartphones overall.
